The Flowers for Treasurer campaign issued the following statement in response to the Delaware State AFL-CIO decision not to issue an endorsement in the competitive race for the Delaware State Treasurer.
“We commend the Delaware State AFL-CIO and its member unions for not endorsing any candidate for the Office of State Treasurer and leaving this important decision to the voters of the State of Delaware. Consistent with the principles of democracy and freedom of choice, the decision by the state’s largest labor organization not to endorse any candidate in this important race is a true testament of the strength and integrity of the organization. We salute this decision by the Delaware State AFL-CIO and we look forward to working with the organization and its members to earn their support on Election Day. Without question, this is a true sign of our campaign’s strong standing with the voters of the First State.”
